Laser Lipo ProLipo™ Laser by Sciton

Wavelength and Power

The ProLipo™ Nd:YAD laser has both 1064 nm and 1319 nm Nd:YAG source filters. This combination of wavelengths is desirable for blending different types of lipolysis. For example, the 1064 nm wavelength improves skin tone, acts on collagen fibers, concentrates on blood vessels and fat cells, and heats the skin more slowly. The 1319 nm wavelength targets water in the dermal collagen and melts the fat by bursting the cells, making fat extraction easier and also promoting skin tightening, while heating the skin more quickly. Used together, these wavelengths can both increase successful outcomes and patient throughput.

The ProLipo™ is rated for a maximum of 20 watts of power in the United States (with a maximum of 25 watts in other countries). The extremely short pulse duration (10 - 100 µsec) means greater tissue ablation and less collateral damage.

FDA Approval

The 1064 nm laser is FDA approved for laser lipolysis, incision, vaporization, ablation, and coagulation of soft tissue. FDA approval is pending for the 1319nm unit.

Delivery Mechanism

The ProLipo™ uses a 600 - 1000 µm core. The 18 GA cannula is available in 100, 150, and 200 mm lengths. The 14 GA cannula is available in 250 and 320 mm lengths.

Configurable Options

The ProLipo™ workstation is a configurable platform. The following options are available in addition to the main unit: BBL™, for the treatment of pigmentation and microvasculature; BBL-HR, for hair removal; SkinTyte™, for the reduction of both wrinkles and laxity over lypolysed areas; and Pro-V™, for the transcutaneous treatment of veins.

The ProLipo™ workstation comes with clinical training to assure positive outcomes. See the specifications tables below for technical information. All trademarks and registered trademarks are the property of their respective owners.
