ProLipo Plus™ Laser by Sciton: Information for Laser Lipo Physicians

Ultra high-power, laser-assisted lipolysis body sculpting and contouring system

Use the ProLipo Plus™ laser lipo workstation from Sciton for laser liposculpture of the chin, jowls, neck, arms, male chest, back, abdomen, flanks, hips, thighs, buttocks, and knees.

Wavelength and Power

The ProLipo Plus™ Nd:YAD laser has both 1064 nm and 1319 nm Nd:YAG source filters and a diode. This combination of wavelengths is desirable for blending different types of lipolysis. For example, the 1064 nm wavelength improves skin tone, acts on collagen fibers, concentrates on blood vessels and fat cells, and heats the skin more slowly. The 1319 nm wavelength targets water in the dermal collagen and melts the fat by bursting the cells, making fat extraction easier and also promoting skin tightening, while heating the skin more quickly. Used together, these wavelengths can both increase successful outcomes and patient throughput.

The ProLipo Plus™ is rated for a maximum of 40 watts of power for all three source filters, the most powerful of the major lipolysis lasers. The extremely short pulse duration (10 - 100 µsec) means greater tissue ablation and less collateral damage. The diode laser is not available in the United States.

FDA Approval

The ProLipo Plus™ 1064 and 1319nm laser is cleared by the FDA. The diode unit is not available in the United States.

Delivery Mechanism

The ProLipo Plus™ uses a 600 - 1000 µm open source fiber.

Configurable Options

The ProLipo Plus™ workstation is a configurable platform allowing practitioners to upgrade or to add core modules at any time, such as when the field experiences technological breakthroughs or the doctor seeks to expand his or her practice.
