Wavelength and Power

The SlimLipo™ system is used with the Aspire® Platform by Palomar. The SlimLipo™ utilizes a dual wavelength of 924 nm and 975 nm. The 924 nm wavelength targets normal adipose (fat) tissue without destroying connective tissue. The 975 wavelength targets water in the dermal layer, making it ideal for skin tightening. These wavelengths can be used in combination to both destroy fat and tighten skin-contour the body- in one step, which can increase success rates and decrease patient recovery time. The dual wavelength also allows physicians to treat more patients each day. Either wavelength can also be used alone, for example, to treat small areas such as the jowls.

The laser outputs a maximum of 40 W of power, with a 24 W model available. The laser carries a continuous (θ) pulse.

The SlimLipo™ laser is approved by the FDA.

Delivery Mechanism

The SlimLipo™ workstation uses a 1.5 mm fiber, making it possible to treat much larger areas of fat than is possible with other laser-assisted lipoysis systems. The SlimLipo™ fiber delivery mechanism allows for the laser lipo surgeon to select wavelengths and power levels. An aiming beam increases the precision of delivery. The tip moves easily through even high fibrous areas, causing less fatigue to the physician. Interchangeable tips are available for specific treatments.
